The trick to using exchanges is all in the browser.

If you surf one hour a day you earn 120 credits at 2:1 you earn 60 visitors.
Now if you use a multi browser, you can surf 5 exchanges at the same time and earn 300
visitors per hour.

Step one:
Download and install multibrowser at http://crazybrowser.com

Step two:
Join blog traffic exchanges
http://virtualloop.com
http://www.blogexplosion.com/index.php?ref=intheloop

Step three:
Set up the browser. Open the browser and open begin oprning every blog exchange you belong to. Once you have all of them open, click the groups tab on the toolbar. Select ADD ALL TO GROUP from the menu. This will save all the links as a group.

Now all you have to do is open the browser and click on your blog group. All five or six exchanges will open at once and maximize your traffic exchange time.
Yes, the traffic you get from those sites suck. People look at your blog only because they have to.

and no, it isnt cheating.

Can some one suggest a more retail slant to getting people to look at blogs. Not other bloggers, but people who might be interested in my art blog and looking at my paintings. Any suggestions on that?

Here is what I have done:
I have my blog on my html newletter that goes out to subscribers once a week.
I have it on my web site
I have it in my signature line for all email that goes out.
I have registered with all the directories and ping services

Thanks,

I am looking forward to a response to Blondheim's question since I share her concern.

When you google your name, does your blog come up and if so on what page? That is the best way to determine how many hits your blog is getting.

Many of the free counters that are being used are inaccurate, and not the best way to judge how popular your blog is.

One way to get more viewers to your blog is through your website. Do you have a link to your blog on your site? Is your site heavily viewed? It all works hand in hand.

The best way to increase visitors to your site is to offer free information or free services.

Hits to you blog mean nothing if you are using your blog to sell art, and most viewers are jusy searching to fulfill the requirements for a blogging search engine. You need qualified hits. i.e. viewers who want to buy art. Better yet, viewers who want to by your art.

If you want to sell art from your blog, try to keep in mind what a blog is.....a chatty daily or weekly journal that lets the potential buyer get to know you as a person, to share your joy at completeing a great work of art, your frustration at trying to put an idea down on canvas, or paper. laugh with you etc... Be human in your blog!!!!

making manual trade-link also helps. besides, commenting on someone else blog usually will be followed up by reciprocal gesture from the owner and his/her friends.

Yes, that is very true.

It is extremely time-consuming, though.

It seems that the blogs I leave comments on are largely the blogs of other artists and photographers.

I find the ones giving me the most traffic I have left below, Freeviral gets you millions of hits (so it says) I must admit though I am doing really well with it and have even got quite a lot of subscribers to my site The Guvnor Times. The other is Blogshares, which is a fun way of promoting your blog. Anyway my personal preference is Freeviral, but what ever floats your boat or try both.

Some additional info -- I have found that by listing in a highly active BlogRing or several AND joining a few of the larger site surfing services you can actually AMPLIFY the effect. Especially when you are able to grow your downline users. In the end this is a WIN WIN for everyone. the only drawback I see is it still remains difficult to get folks to comment on your posts when you do this because all they want to do is MAXIMIZE the number of sites they visit in a given period of time... like the post above.

We run a blog ring with over 130+ members and everone on the ring gets to benefit.... see some of the info here http://zardozz.com/blog_traffic_services.htm

This is an open invitation to folks at this forum to join since many of you here seem to be looking for an inexpensive way to get visitors to your sites !!!
