Changing the name of one's blog.......

I have submitted my blog to a zillion directories.

I realize that I can change the name of my blog so that it would probably get better search engine placement.

The question is:
Is it a wise idea to change the name of my blog at this point in time?

I have changed the names on my blogs several times, and have not found any negative effects as a result of this. I have found that it may help my blogs search position that it they are been linked to under a veriaty of names.

I would not want to change to url of any of my blogs ever. I have been told it could be posible to change URLs without any negative effect but it is stil a risk that i don't feel happy taking.

My blog is on blogger and I don't think that changing the name of my blog changes its url.

You have to keep a record of the directories you had submit your blog to.
At least know the login to their member area for future update.

You are absolutely right!


I have records of perhaps 50% or more of the directories I submitted my blog to.

I am beginning to think that it isn't worth bothering to change the name of my blog since I don't have records of all of the directories that I submitted my blog to.

Now it is named:

NINA KURILOFF - FINE ART

I think it would be more beneficial to me to change the name to:

NINA KURILOFF - PAINTINGS

I think paintings can be quite restrictive right? If you done a pencil drawing, will you consider that a painting? And it seems that if you ever decide to pick up a new form of art, need it be sculpting, installations etc., fine art seems great enough.

Maybe you should change the meta content for it? It may look more attractive that way.

Do some research on Meta Tags, and key word optimization. Changing your name is fine if you have a small readership... but once you get a large one you will NOT want to be doing that. It is hard to regain readers especially if you keep shifting URLs.
