I know. you have insurance and think you are protected from homeowner disasters, but have you ever had one?

Here's a big one. The man drove into his garage and passed out (medical issue) before he could turn off his car, but after he had closed the garage door with the automatic door thing. Car kept running. He died. Car ran for about 7-8 hrs. more, filling house with CO and toxic exhaust products (benzene, toluene, etc.)

Ten months later, although the insurer admitted the claim was covered under the policy, the family can't live in or sell their home, the insurer has paid only 6K for living expenses for a family of 3, and has forced the family to go to court to get their claims resolved.

Imagine being bereaved and having to deal with an unscrupulous insurer, who was happy to take your money, as long as you didn't need anything from them.

Just think, and wonder if their company is your insurer.
