Be patient, traffic doesn’t happen overnight. The best way that I’ve found to increase traffic is by getting to know people. Spend what free time that you have, reading blogs, leaving feedback and building friendships. Try to leave comments on the blogs that you visit as often as you can. Eventually you’ll build a network of not just readers, but friends and loyal supporters. Blogging is not just about marketing; it’s about creating lasting relationships.

This also causes you to be refered by others in their posts as they check out your blog. This will cause Google and Technorati and Blog RSS Newsfeed agressors to track their intention and index more of your blog/referals to your blog

It takes a while to get traffic, but once you do, it multiplies quickly.

I'm a new user of this wonderful site where I'm learning so much...
I would refer you to an interesting site oriented to promote new bloggers all around the world, and where I'm an humild collaborator as well.
The site is http://www.promotingblogs.com , and has increased my blog popularity and visits, so I strongly recommend you to promote your blogs there.

Goodluck!

Don't rely on search engines and directories if your blog still receive little traffic. Try joining blogging communities like mybloglog or technorati and make friends there. Find other blogs that are related to yours, and politely ask the owners to do a link exchange with your blog. That'll definitely boost your popularity.

Try to get as much exposure as you can.

Have fun blogging!
