BIG BASH LEAGUE SCHEDULE
The sixth edition of the Big Bash League T20 competition kicks off on December 20, 2016 when reigning champions Sydney Thunder taking on their cross-town rivals Sydney Sixers.

A total of 35 matches will be played across 40 days during the Australian holiday season. The Adelaide Oval will hold the traditional New Year’s Eve fixture with the Adelaide Strikers hosting the Sydney Sixers.

There will be a total of four double headers while the Boxing Day fixture has been moved to Hobart from Perth with the Hurricanes set to take on the Melbourne Stars. Perth will host the Sydney Thunder in the second match on New Year’s Day.

All eight teams play each other at least once while they play one of the other sides for a second time in the same season. The top four teams in the competition after each of the eight teams have played eight times move into the semi-finals.

Once again, the organisers have chosen not to have any matches scheduled on Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day. The semi-finals will be played on January 24 and 25 with the final set to be played on January 28.
