Life blog website review (Not WordPress)

Just stumbled across this forum and I am really excited about the abundance of information on here. I work in public safety full time and only blog as a hobbiest. I opted against WordPress although wildly popular simply so I could have total creative control of every aspect of my site. Would love to hear all the good, bad, and everything in between. It tells me I can't post the url until I have made 15 posts so I will be creative. You know the first part with the three w's. Middle and end is chatterboxdetox.com
