However, if you do that - it's still not guaranteed. For a better chance of it being indexed, get some backlinks. The higher the rank on google the site that links back to you, the mroe of a chance of your site being indexed.
Basically - just advertise and try to hurl in traffic.
Yeah, you can also list yourself in blog directories, and eventually you will be spidered.
This is what I did to market my blogsite. I joined Facebook. Then added friends. Then added friends of friends. Then added friends of friends of friends. And kept on repeating the process until I had a sizeable pool of friends. Then I shared my blogsite. In less than 10 days, my blogsite received more than 300 unique visitors. Google "areesportals" to see the results.

Great idea, I am on youtube with subscribers. Will send them emails telling them of my new blog site.
is really fun. As it is written can be done through other social sites, friends, friends of friends or google... the thing is that you do something and please do talk about it everywhere you can :)

Very Simple,
Ist step: Add your blog on Google Webmaster tool.
2nd Step: create a Meta tag for your Blog and add meta tag in your blog and verify it with Google Webmaster tool.
3rd step: Add sitemap.xml file of Your Blog in Google Webmaster tool.
Then you will see your blog will regularly index by GoogleBot.
