About linking?

I'm new to blogging and found a few blog forums that had a area for people to exchange links. Does this help promote your site?

Most link exchange are done to increase site's popularity. If the pages the exchanged links are placed on receive a lot of traffic it is possible that exchanging links will result in visitors.

This is right, if you want to promote your blog, you can submit that to blog directories. This will help you a lot.

Link exchange or popularly known as reciprocal link is where you put your link in other's people site and in return your link partner will feature his link on your site. Doing these will help to increase your search engine ranking.

Besides link exchange you can also do one way linking to boast traffic to your site.

hi all bit of a newbie but doing well (about 150-200 hits a day) finding that blog rolls help get your blog around i generaly add people to mine who show an interest and of course those who have blogs worthy enough so if you fancy your chances come and have a look @ my blog just search for just a typical dad on google (only becasue i cant link you till after 15 posts!) look forward to your comments!
