I think the worst thing that you could do is insult something about them - either their appearance or they way they talk (for example). If you don't like certain things about the person you are on a date with, just don't date them again. If they want to know why you won't go on another date, just say you didn't feel that "connection" and it would be rude of you to waste anymore of their time.

Don't talk about your past relationships, marriage, or ask "So are your parents still living?" (True story..my friend got asked that...obviously she never called back).
